In Russia, a father took his three-year-old daughter to Uzbekistan without the mother's consent and disappeared, reports Nova24.uz.
The girl's mother, a Russian citizen, sought help after her former husband, an Uzbek national, took the child abroad without permission. The father had a valid permit until October 2024, but he stopped contacting the mother after the trip.
Authorities discovered that the girl was staying with her grandmother in Samarkand, while the father had gone to work in St. Petersburg.
Thanks to the intervention of child rights commissioners from both countries, the grandmother voluntarily returned the girl to her mother. The child is now safely with her.
