The rumor about the boy in the Tashkent metro turned out to be false!
In Tashkent, at the “Pakhtakor” metro station, one incident sparked widespread discussion on social media. According to some users’ reports, a child was allegedly pushed onto the train tracks, and a serious situation ensued. However, the actual facts turned out to be completely different.

The Tashkent Metro press service issued an official statement refuting the circulated reports and presenting the verified details of what occurred.

What happened?
According to official information, the incident occurred on June 26, 2025, around 18:00 at the “Pakhtakor” station. While exiting the train, one of the passengers, specifically a 3-year-old girl, had her foot trapped by the train car door due to the inattention of the accompanying adult, i.e., her guardian.

After the incident, metro staff immediately provided first aid to the child and summoned emergency medical services. Medical examination revealed that the girl did not sustain any serious injuries; her life and health are not in danger.

False information that circulated
On social media, the incident was widely misrepresented. A number of Telegram channels and Facebook groups spread sensational headlines such as “Child pushed onto train tracks” or “Tragedy in the metro.” However, Tashkent Metro emphasized that these reports are completely unfounded and do not reflect reality.

In the official response, it was stated that the information implying “The child was pushed onto the train tracks” is incorrect, defamatory, and based on falsehood.

Metro’s appeal to passengers
The management of Tashkent Metro appealed to all citizens, especially parents with children, to remain particularly cautious when boarding and alighting at stations and inside trains. It was recommended to carefully supervise children, keep them in sight at all times, and avoid standing too close to the doors when the train is stopped.

Responsibility for false information
Active social media users were also urged: before sharing unverified information, rely on official sources. Spreading misinformation, false messages, or sensational content can not only lead to social instability but also is punishable under the law.

According to the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, disseminating false information — especially those that create a dangerous situation among the population — carries administrative and even criminal liability.

Conclusion
This incident at the metro station once again proved: one should not believe every social media post blindly. Information from official sources is reliable, objective, and verified. Children’s safety is our collective responsibility. Caution, a conscious approach, and information culture are key requirements of modern society.
