A huge tree crushed two cars on the road in Yunusabad

On July 3, an unusual, somewhat frightening road traffic incident occurred in the city of Tashkent.
The incident drew wide public attention through social networks.
Videos and photographs posted by people show a huge tree collapsing onto the road and directly crushing two cars.

According to available information, this event took place on Buyuk Turon Street in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent city.
The fallen tree damaged two vehicles — a Spark passenger car and a modern Chinese‑made electric car, a BYD.

Witnesses say that at the time of the incident there were people in these cars, but luckily no one sustained bodily injuries.
The drivers managed to leave the cabins in time.

The tree had a broad trunk, had been growing for many years and was probably one of the trees long familiar to the city.
Unfortunately, it no longer adorns the city landscape but has become the cause of an accident.
It is assumed that the core of its trunk had rotted.

After the incident, a traffic jam formed on the road.
Traffic was temporarily halted.
Emergency services, traffic safety officers and utility representatives arrived at the scene and began sawing the fallen tree, removing it and reopening the road.

At that very moment the Spark driver started procedures for assessing the technical damage to his car through the insurance company.
The BYD driver, meanwhile, broadcast the incident live via social media.
This situation quickly sparked heated discussions among the wider public.

At present, local competent agencies have not given any official comments on the incident.
Therefore, many citizens express the opinion that the tree might have been unhealthy beforehand.

Environmental specialists emphasize the need to regularly check the condition of such trees.
According to them, long‑standing trees within the city can weaken due to natural or climatic factors and pose a danger.

Today's incident also clearly demonstrated such a hazard.
Regular preventive work must be carried out to prevent such situations.

Most citizens sharply criticize such negligence.
They ask the city administration to inspect large trees along the roads and cut down those that are sufficiently old or unhealthy.

It should be noted that this is not the first case of a tree falling recorded in 2024–2025.
Last month a similar incident occurred on another street in Yunusabad, and again, fortunately, no one was injured.

Local residents describe this situation as a “sign.”
The fact that no one’s life was harmed is the greatest stroke of luck.
But to prevent such calamities from recurring, the relevant organizations must take timely measures.

Every pedestrian and driver on the road must think about safety.
