Fraud in land sales: persons who attempted to sell land for $420,000 detained
In Uzbekistan, combating violations in the field of land relations is under constant attention. Recently, the department under the General Prosecutor's Office, together with law enforcement officers, carried out large-scale operational activities in a number of districts, reports prokuratura.uz. These measures have once again confirmed that strict action is being taken against problems related to land in the country.

In particular, during a special operation held in the Uchtepa district, citizens Sh.A. and A.S., presenting themselves as influential individuals, promised to sell 4 hectares of vacant land in the Bukinsky district of Tashkent region for $420,000 and to process documents through their high-ranking acquaintances. They were detained with physical evidence at the moment of receiving $90,000 of the agreed sum.

This did not stop there: a similar situation was uncovered in the Toyloq district of Samarkand region. This time, citizens N.N. and Sh.M., through acquaintances working in the cadastral authorities, promised to transfer 1.5 hectares of land belonging to the “B.B.” farm in the Urgut district to another citizen, A.O., for $80,000. Their fraudulent plan was stopped at the moment they received $20,000, with material evidence.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated on the basis of the relevant articles of the Criminal Code — Articles 25, 168 (fraud) and 211 (giving a bribe). Investigative actions are being carried out, and the circumstances of these cases are currently being clarified.

Today, any illegal actions related to land are strictly condemned by the state and society. Such measures by the department, especially to ensure transparency and legality in land transactions, play an important role in combating corruption and fraud.

Law enforcement experts emphasize that in land sales and document processing, people should not be deceived by suspicious offers and "assistants", and all actions must be carried out strictly within the law. As events develop and investigations conclude, the public is expected to be provided with additional information.

Such an approach by the state and society to these issues will further strengthen justice and transparency in the field of land relations in the coming years.
