An operation was carried out by the Department of Prosecutor's Office of Kashkadarya region, in collaboration with the employees of the State Security Service (SSS) and customs, which led to the discovery of an underground facility where counterfeit medicines were being produced, valued at 709 million sums.
Uncovering the Underground Factory and its Operations
During the operation, a residence in the Khiyaibon neighborhood of the Yakka-Bog district was searched. The investigation revealed that unknown origin and unverified quality medicines were being stored in this house, with counterfeit labels attached, intended for future distribution to pharmacies.
Counterfeit Medicines and Labels
A total of 2,391 units of medicines, various medicine boxes, and counterfeit labels were seized from the underground facility. The overall value of the seized medicines was 709 million sums. This highlights the gravity of the situation and the significant role of government agencies in fighting the spread of counterfeit products.
Technical and Legal Checks
The investigation revealed that the medicines produced in the house did not meet legal requirements and had not undergone any inspection or licensing. These medicines were being prepared for future sale despite lacking the necessary approvals.
