A tragic incident among young girls in Ohangaron has shaken our hearts. A few days ago, three friends who had come from the city of Angren went on a walk to the Ohangaron reservoir. However, this place full of natural beauty turned into an unexpected tragedy instead of youthful joy.
According to the available information, two of them were 19-year-old students at one of the universities in Tashkent. They had come to visit their friend, a 17-year-old girl living in Ohangaron. Taking advantage of the hot weather, they decided to rest in nature and went to the reservoir area.
According to witnesses, the girls entered the shore part of the water, but due to the sandy layer at the bottom slipping, they ended up in a difficult situation. Although they tried to save each other, two of them drowned. Only one managed to survive.
At around 14:20 on July 28, the Ohangaron district department of internal affairs received a report about the incident. It was established that the drowned were D.P., born in 2006 and a resident of Angren, and N.E., also born in 2006 and a resident of the Ohangaron district. The girl born in 2009, D.A., was rescued.
Specialists from the Ohangaron district department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations immediately started search operations. The body of D.P. was found the same day around 20:00, and the body of N.E. was found the next morning, on July 29. For determining the causes of death, forensic medical examinations were assigned.
The exact cause of the tragedy is still unknown. The district prosecutor’s office is conducting a pre-investigation inspection. Specialists continue working to provide an official assessment of the incident.
Interestingly, such walks are often accompanied by a lack of caution. Sometimes, such sad events become a lesson that reminds us of the value of life. For young people and parents, this incident once again emphasizes the need to follow safety rules.
