In the city of Samarkand, the driver of a Spark car was identified and held administratively liable for failing to give way to an ambulance.
The incident occurred earlier this week on one of the city streets. According to surveillance footage, the driver ignored repeated audible and visual signals and did not yield to the emergency vehicle.
As a result, the ambulance was forced to enter the opposite lane to continue its emergency route, which posed a serious risk to other drivers and pedestrians.
The driver was quickly located and fined under the relevant article of the Administrative Code of Uzbekistan. He was issued a fine of 2,060,000 soums (equal to 5 times the base calculation rate).
According to traffic laws, all drivers must safely stop and give way to ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles. This rule is mandatory and must be strictly followed.
Law enforcement officials once again reminded drivers of the importance of letting emergency vehicles pass. They emphasized that failure to comply would inevitably lead to administrative penalties.
