Videos circulating on social networks caused a great controversy in the city of Navoi. Reports circulated that the alleged Olympic champion had assaulted and injured a restaurant employee. After the incident sparked widespread discussion, the regional Department of Internal Affairs issued an official statement.
As it turned out, the incident occurred on August 22 of this year at 2:00 AM in the "Ziyokor" neighborhood of Navoi city. S.A., born in 1994, a resident of the Karmana district, went to a restaurant with acquaintances and ate. At the time of payment, he made the payment, but got into his car to bring the missing part.
At that very moment, a restaurant employee, M.U. S.A., born in 2004, went to him and asked him to pay the remaining money. However, S.A., who was under the influence of alcohol, had a verbal argument with him and, denying the rules of public etiquette, hit M.U. in the face with his hand and inflicted bodily harm on him.
During the investigation, it was revealed that he is not an Olympic champion, as stated in the videos. On the same day, he came to the restaurant with the famous discus thrower, two-time Paralympic champion E.S., born in 1995. At the time of the incident, E.S. was in the car and later intervened in the situation, trying to calm S.A. while providing assistance to the victim.
According to official information, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 277, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. A measure was taken against S.A. as a suspect in accordance with the law. Currently, investigative actions are being carried out and all aspects of the incident are being studied.
