According to the data, during the period from 2020 to 2024, 397 citizens were brought to administrative responsibility for cruelty to animals. 363 of them were fined, and the remaining 34 were sentenced to administrative arrest. These figures indicate that problematic situations regarding animal treatment still persist in the country.
The cases recorded in the first half of this year show that cases of cruelty to animals have not completely disappeared. At the same time, it is noteworthy that law enforcement agencies are taking strict measures against such actions. According to the law, torture of animals with malicious or malicious intent, causing them pain - entails the imposition of a fine from 3 to 5 times the Basic Calculated Amount (BCA).
If such a violation is repeated within a year after the application of administrative penalties, or committed in the presence of minors, or caused the death or injury of animals, the fine may be increased from 5 to 10 BRV. Administrative arrest for up to 15 days has also been imposed.
