Those who allowed forced labor in cotton picking were punished

During the cotton harvesting season, strict measures were taken against officials who allowed forced labor. This was reported by the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment.

It is noted that during the cotton harvesting period, continuous monitoring is conducted to prevent child labor and forced labor, as well as to ensure compliance with labor legislation. During inspections carried out from September 10 to 20 this year, practical assistance was provided to more than 300 harvesters in drafting seasonal employment contracts.

During this period, 11 cases of labor law violations were identified, and measures were taken against the responsible officials in accordance with Article 49 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. In addition, 3 officials who allowed forced labor were subjected to administrative measures under Part 1 of Article 51.

The ministry's press service emphasized:
“Any form of forced labor in Uzbekistan is strictly prohibited, and violators of the law are held accountable. Protecting the rights of cotton harvesters and monitoring compliance with labor laws are among the state’s top priorities.”

These measures are of great importance for protecting workers’ rights during the cotton harvesting season, ensuring social justice, and upholding the rule of law. For harvesters and agricultural workers, such a monitoring system guarantees legality and safety in labor practices.
