In Tashkent, the sale of medicines of unguaranteed quality will be stopped

In the city of Tashkent, a large batch of medical devices and medicines of unguaranteed quality was discovered, and the sellers were detained. During an operation conducted by the Uchtepa District Department of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office and customs officers, three individuals involved in the illegal sale of healthcare products were apprehended. During the operation, these individuals continued their illegal activities and were caught selling 7,600 boxes of various medical devices manufactured abroad, including 3 types, for $10,000.

As a result of the operation, several other high-quality unwarranted medical devices were also discovered. 13,621 units of 23 types of medicines and medical devices with a total value of 214.5 million soums were seized and sent to the relevant authorities for inspection.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code (production, acquisition, storage, transportation, or sale of unlawful or counterfeit medicines or medical devices). The investigation is currently ongoing.

This situation once again demonstrates the danger that the illegal drug trade poses to the healthcare system and society. Products without a high-quality warranty can pose a serious threat to human health, therefore the role of the state and law enforcement agencies in preventing such criminal activity is significant.
