Illegal gold miners were detained in Bukhara and Navoi, Uznews reported.
Inspections were carried out by the “Kontexnazorat” inspectorate at several sites located in Bukhara and Navoi regions. During these actions, cases of illegal gold mining by citizens were revealed in the Shofirkon district’s “Quljuqtov” and Kanimeh district’s “Tovshan” mountain massif areas, which belong to “Oltin Kon” LLC.
The materials were handed over to the State Security Service (DXX). Afterwards, rapid measures were taken in cooperation with DXX and the regional police officers. As a result, 37 individuals engaged in illegal activities were caught and detained at the scene in the “Quljuqtov” area.
During the operation, 3 Ford cars, 8 perforators, 6 compressors, about 400 sacks of gold ore, and various homemade tools and equipment were confiscated. According to preliminary calculations, the damage caused to the state and society exceeded 20 billion soms.
