Illegal consumption of billions of soums worth of electricity

The Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office is identifying cases of illegal use of energy resources in some regions.

During a pre-investigation check conducted in the Bostanlyk district, citizen T.M. and others recorded a case of direct connection to the public network bypassing the electricity meter in a house located in the "Dustlik" mahalla. This resulted in the illegal use of 216.4 million soums worth of electricity.

It was also revealed that officials of the "Q.-A." farm in the Sharaf-Rashidov district illegally connected water pumps to the power grid and consumed 123.8 million soums worth of energy. In both cases, a criminal case has been initiated under the articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out.
