In Namangan region, an explosion at a car refueling station claimed the life of one person, reported the regional Department of Emergency Situations.
According to the information, the tragedy occurred on October 25 at 18:47 in the “Birlik” mahalla of Chust district. At the refueling station, whose activity had been temporarily suspended, work was being carried out to move a 10-ton fuel storage tank.
According to preliminary data, during the work, fire safety requirements were violated, as a result of which ignition occurred.
The worker who was performing welding operations died at the scene from the injuries received.
The Emergency Situations Service arrived at the scene with three fire-rescue units, and the spread of the fire was prevented in time.
At present, the exact causes of the explosion and the amount of material damage are being studied.
