
A woman who attacked a driver with a hammer after a traffic accident in Tashkent was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison.
The incident occurred in April of this year in the Yunusabad district. After a minor accident between a Spark and a Matiz, the woman, who was the driver of the Spark, lost her composure and threw an iron hammer at the Matiz driver.
A video circulating on social media shows a woman getting out of her car, breaking Matiz windows, and striking a man multiple times. The victim was hospitalized and diagnosed with mild concussion.
In court, both sides accused each other of provocation. The woman admitted that the driver of the Spark insulted her and in response used an aluminum hammer that was in her car.
The Supreme Court found the woman guilty under Article 277 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code and sentenced her to one year and six months in prison. Also, according to the court decision, the woman is obliged to pay the victim 5 million 300 thousand soums in damages.
