An environmental violation that occurred in the Alat district of the Bukhara region caused widespread public discussion. According to the regional Department of Ecology, a local resident illegally destroyed oleaster trees, causing damage to nature in the amount of almost 190 million soums.
It was reported that inspectors are currently conducting night and day raids throughout the region to strengthen environmental control. However, despite this, in the territory of the "Kirtay" mahalla, citizen J.T. was found to have uprooted 24 oleaster trees with the help of an excavator.
As a result of the investigation, the amount of damage caused to nature was estimated at 189 million 520 thousand soums. Currently, relevant documents have been drawn up against the citizen, and the materials have been sent to law enforcement agencies.
The Ecology Department and experts emphasize that in recent years, strict measures have been taken in the country to protect green spaces and limit tree cutting. It was noted that protecting nature is the duty not only of the state, but also of every citizen.
At the same time, a similar situation was previously identified in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent - trees were cut down in violation of the moratorium requirements. Administrative measures were taken against the officials in connection with this situation.
According to the legislation, liability is established for illegal felling or damaging of trees or shrubs. According to Article 79 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility:
25-50 times the basic calculated value (10.3 million - 20.6 million soums) for citizens;
For officials, a fine of 50-75 times (20.6 million - 30.9 million soums) is established.
Furthermore, liability for intentional damage to trees and plants during construction or reconstruction will be further aggravated.
Ecologists emphasize that every tree is a breath of nature, and losing it harms the entire ecosystem. Public activity plays an important role in preventing such situations from recurring.
