In the Khorezm region, a preventive inspector was detained while receiving a bribe, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the information, a citizen filed a complaint stating that in the documents related to a private enterprise he had established together with his partner, signatures had been falsified and the income was being illegally appropriated.
During this process, the preventive inspector responsible for the area promised the citizen to “resolve the issue positively” and demanded a bribe of 1,000 US dollars in exchange for issuing an expert opinion in his favor.
During an operational event, the inspector was detained in the city of Khiva while receiving the money, along with material evidence.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident, and a pre-trial detention measure has been applied to the employee. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the Khorezm Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
