In the Kumkurgan district of the Surkhandarya region, a teacher who had been dismissed from his position as school director attempted to set himself on fire, the Department of Preschool and School Education reported.
A video circulating on social media shows the emotional actions of Z.A., the former director of School No. 39 located in the Arpapoya neighborhood. According to reports, he served as director from 2010 until September 16, 2025.
Based on the department’s order dated September 16, the employment contract with Z.A. was terminated in accordance with Article 157 of the Labor Code.
Following this, Z.A. opposed the appointment of the new director and, on October 13, actively resisted during the handover of appointment documents. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
Currently, E.A. has been appointed as the new director of School No. 39, and the educational process continues as normal.
