In Kashkadarya region, the use of solar energy is expanding, according to official sources.
According to the data, during January–September of this year, residents and entrepreneurs of the region received more than 11 billion 800 million soums in subsidies for the energy generated through solar panels. These funds were paid to encourage the use of renewable energy sources.
This indicator is part of a large-scale program being implemented across the country. Overall, more than 35,000 citizens nationwide have received over 153 billion soums in subsidies. The largest shares were recorded in Khorezm region (42.6 billion soums), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (22.4 billion), and Bukhara region (15.3 billion).
It should be noted that since April 1, 2023, citizens who install solar panels in their homes have the right to receive a subsidy of 1,000 soums for every kilowatt-hour of energy transmitted to the general power grid.
According to experts, this program not only reduces household electricity costs but also promotes the development of renewable energy sources and ensures stable energy supply throughout the country.
