At the Samarkand airport, a pneumatic pistol and ammunition were found in the luggage of a passenger arriving on a flight from Russia. The incident occurred on December 4 on the “Saint Petersburg–Samarkand” route.
A 39-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, A.D., chose the “green” corridor when passing through customs, but due to the officers’ suspicion he was redirected to the “red” corridor, where his luggage was fully inspected. During the inspection, 1 pneumatic pistol, 4 compressed-air cartridges, and 105 bullets were found in his bag.
The citizen stated that he had purchased the weapon from an unknown person in Saint Petersburg and was bringing it for personal use. The pistol and ammunition have been temporarily confiscated by customs authorities.
