During preventive measures carried out in the Fergana region, narcotic substances worth more than 7 billion soums were seized. This was reported by the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
According to the information, during November, within the framework of the “Safe and Healthy Country” program, large-scale operational raids were organized in cooperation with the DIA, the State Security Service, and other law enforcement agencies. As a result of the operations, more than 30 kilograms — approximately 60 thousand doses — of narcotic substances and over 17 thousand strong-acting medicinal products were removed from circulation.
According to the calculations of law enforcement agencies, these substances could have caused nearly 20 thousand cases of poisoning among citizens. The raids carried out prevented this threat and helped strengthen public safety in the region.
The relevant authorities are continuing additional investigative procedures regarding the incident.
