Why Strengthening Prescription Regulations Is Important

Regulations regarding the dispensing of medications in Uzbekistan are being intensified! These measures aim to enhance treatment safety and protect public health.

Main objectives and changes

• Safety comes first: Most essential medications will now only be dispensed with a doctor's prescription. International practices also confirm the importance of this approach.
• Electronic monitoring: In certain regions, an electronic prescription system is being piloted. This system will be gradually implemented nationwide.
• Limiting unnecessary medications: This new control system is designed to restrict cases where doctors prescribe excessive or unjustified medications to patients (polypharmacy).
• Preventing haphazard treatment: Medications must only be taken under medical supervision. Taking medications without oversight poses serious health risks.

Note: At the initial stage of any new system, technical issues may arise. The pilot phase has been implemented specifically to identify and address such challenges.

These updates represent a significant step towards improving the quality of medical care, preventing the misuse of medications, and most importantly – ensuring the maximum safety of your treatment.
