In Samarkand region, in the Payarik district, a baby born in a maternity hospital was found in a trash bin. Investigations and clarifications are underway regarding this incident.
It is reported that on December 27, 2025, a baby was found in the maternity hospital who was dead and not breathing in a trash bin. It was previously mentioned that the baby's mother was brought to the maternity hospital, but she was not sent for a medical examination. At that time, the woman refused an ultrasound examination, which caused concern among the doctors, and they decided to send her for further examination.
After the examinations, the woman’s identity was determined via video surveillance. Initially, she denied her involvement in the incident, but subsequent medical tests confirmed the birth.
The regional Interior Ministry has assigned an expert examination to clarify the situation, and the results will be announced. Afterward, it will be determined whether the baby was born alive or was stillborn and then delivered.
Currently, no criminal case has been opened against the woman, but after the results of the examination, a decision will be made regarding her arrest or the initiation of criminal proceedings.
