According to reports, due to the slippery surface some drivers lost control, and several cars slid off the road into a ditch. Rescuers pulled out the vehicles and evacuated damaged cars.
In cooperation with road services, the highway was treated with a sand-salt mixture to prevent ice from forming. Traffic on the pass is currently stable, and the weather is cloudy.
Officials urged drivers to take road conditions into account and plan trips carefully. Earlier, it was reported that traffic on some road sections in Jizzakh Region was temporarily restricted due to adverse weather.
