Illegal sale of 179 iPhones uncovered in Tashkent

In Tashkent, new cases related to the illegal circulation of iPhone mobile devices have been uncovered. According to the press service of the specialized customs complex Toshkent-AERO, during оператив checks the sale of a total of 179 phones through the “black market” was stopped.
It is reported that officers of the Anti-Contraband Department in Chilonzor district stopped the sale of 102 iPhones worth 255 million soums, which had not undergone customs clearance and had been brought into the country through illegal routes, at the moment they were being sold to a “conditional buyer”.
In addition, near a shopping complex close to Shaykhontohur district, 77 phones worth 207 million 900 thousand soums were identified while they were being offered to a “conditional buyer”, and their release for sale was prevented.
At present, inquiries are being conducted by customs authorities regarding these cases.
The report notes that since the beginning of 2026, customs officers of this complex have prevented the illegal circulation of 377 mobile communication devices worth a total of 1 billion 727 million soums in 35 cases.
