Violence Against Underage Girls Under Investigation in Samarkand
Authorities in Samarkand’s Toyloq district have launched an investigation into the physical and psychological abuse of two minor girls, born in 2017 and 2019, by their legal guardian. The suspect, identified as M.S., allegedly filmed the violence to extort money from the children’s mother, who is currently working abroad. Following an intervention by the Children’s Ombudsman, the guardian was stripped of her rights, and the girls have been placed in a family-style orphanage to receive medical and psychological care. Law enforcement officials are currently conducting a pre-investigation while also evaluating the mother’s ability to fulfill her parental responsibilities.
A case of abuse against two minor girls has been identified in Toyloq district of Samarkand region, and an investigation has been launched.
According to the information, citizen M.S. exerted pressure on girls born in 2017 and 2019 who were under her care. It is said that her aim was to extort money from the children’s mother, who was abroad.
During the investigation, it was found that the woman had subjected the children to physical and psychological abuse and had also recorded these incidents on video.
The regional representative of the children’s ombudsman visited the scene and took the necessary measures to protect them.
At present, a pre-investigation check is being carried out by the district internal affairs authorities in connection with the case.
At the same time, the guardianship authority has deprived M.S. of guardianship rights. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the injuries inflicted on the children.
Psychologists have been involved to restore the girls’ psychological condition. They have now been placed in a family children’s home and officially enrolled in educational institutions.
Specialists are also studying the degree to which the children’s mother, who is abroad, has fulfilled her parental obligations.
