Violence Against Underage Girls Under Investigation in Samarkand

A case of abuse against two minor girls has been identified in Toyloq district of Samarkand region, and an investigation has been launched.
According to the information, citizen M.S. exerted pressure on girls born in 2017 and 2019 who were under her care. It is said that her aim was to extort money from the children’s mother, who was abroad.
During the investigation, it was found that the woman had subjected the children to physical and psychological abuse and had also recorded these incidents on video.
The regional representative of the children’s ombudsman visited the scene and took the necessary measures to protect them.
At present, a pre-investigation check is being carried out by the district internal affairs authorities in connection with the case.
At the same time, the guardianship authority has deprived M.S. of guardianship rights. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the injuries inflicted on the children.
Psychologists have been involved to restore the girls’ psychological condition. They have now been placed in a family children’s home and officially enrolled in educational institutions.
Specialists are also studying the degree to which the children’s mother, who is abroad, has fulfilled her parental obligations.
