Large quantities of narcotics were identified during operational activities conducted by State Security Service officers in the Buxoro and Surxondaryo regions.
It was reported that customs authorities also participated in the operation, and opium introduced into illegal circulation was seized. A Lacetti vehicle driven by a resident of the city of Buxoro, who had a prior conviction for drug-related crimes, was stopped in the Kogon district.
During the inspection, 993 grams of opium hidden under the air filter in the engine compartment of the vehicle were discovered and processed as evidence. Investigations revealed that this individual had obtained the substance from another person residing in the Termiz district.
In a subsequent operational event, the aforementioned individual was also detained. Five kilograms of opium were found in his possession, and an additional 7 kilograms of the narcotic substance were discovered and seized from his place of residence.
