Magnus Carlsen has put his World Cup pants up for auction
A Norwegian chess player has put up for auction the jeans that caused a scandal at the World Rapid Chess Championship. The 34-year-old grandmaster showed up to the match on December 28 wearing jeans that were banned. As a result, Magnus was disqualified for violating the dress code and refusing to change. The chess player expressed his opinion on the situation.

"Banned jeans - now they can be yours. I'm putting these pants up for auction. Honestly, I never thought I'd be writing these words. All proceeds from the sale will go to the Big Brother Big Sisters charity program," Carlsen wrote.

The world's number one chess player was fined $200 for breaking the rules during a tournament in New York.
