The next two fights of the absolute champion of the super lightweight category of Japan Naoya Inoue have been officially confirmed. According to The Ring, Inoue's promoters have reached an agreement to hold fights with American Ramon Cardenas and Uzbek Murodjon Akhmadaliev.
According to him, Naoya Inoue (29-0, 26 KOs) will first enter the ring on May 4 in Las Vegas against Ramon Cardenas (26-1, 14 KOs). If he wins this fight, he will face Murodjon Akhmadaliev on September 14 in Tokyo.
Uzbek boxer Murodjon Akhmadaliev (13-1, 10 KOs) currently holds the WBA interim championship belt. He has long demanded a fight with Inoue. If the Japanese boxer refused to enter the ring against him, the WBA organization could strip Inoue of his championship belt.
Akhmadaliev's promoter Eddie Hearn and manager Vadim Kornilov reached an agreement with Inoue's promoters, and if Inoue defeated Cardenas, Akhmadaliev would be his next opponent.
Murodjon Akhmadaliev had been waiting for this fight for a long time and claimed that Inoue was avoiding him. The Japanese champion, nicknamed "The Monster", denied these claims. If Naoya Inoue defeats Murodjon Akhmadaliev, he is scheduled to have his next fight at the "Riyadh Season" tournament in Saudi Arabia in December.
Akhmadaliev, however, aims to use this opportunity to become the absolute champion of the division. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
