Manchester City's management plans to significantly renew the squad ahead of next season. Although transfers already began at the start of the new year, major changes will occur during the summer transfer window.
Older players are advised to look for new clubs. In particular, the team’s experienced defender Kyle Walker left the club in January. Kevin De Bruyne, one of the team's biggest stars, will also certainly leave the squad in June.
Jack Grealish, whose place in the squad has long been in question, was also expected to leave. However, the English midfielder changed his mind. The main reason behind this decision is the player's high salary. Tottenham and his former club Aston Villa have shown interest in Grealish, but they cannot offer the same high wages that Manchester City pays.
For this very reason, the 29-year-old attacking midfielder intends to remain with the Citizens until the end of his contract.
Recall that Manchester City bought Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021 for a record-breaking 117.5 million euros. Currently, the player is valued at 35 million euros according to Transfermarkt, and his contract with the club lasts until the summer of 2027.
Through these current changes, the club aims to strengthen the team with a new generation of footballers and once again compete for trophies. The plans of Manchester City's management are attracting considerable interest among fans. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
