In the 35th round of the Italian championship, Roma hosted Fiorentina and secured a 1–0 victory. With this win, the team earned three crucial points in the fight for a Champions League spot.
At the post-match press conference, the experienced manager of the “Wolves”, Claudio Ranieri, shared his thoughts on the match.
“We saw once again that Fiorentina is a team with very technically skilled players. They weren’t an easy opponent. We struggled in the first half, the opponent showed strong resistance. In such moments, scoring right before the break was extremely important. We scored, and that allowed us to manage the players’ energy properly in the second half,” said Ranieri.
The coach emphasized that every moment of the match demanded focus and hard work.
“Winning was not easy. Fiorentina came well prepared and put up serious resistance until the final whistle. But our players also showed composure and patience throughout the full 90 minutes. That’s why this win is especially meaningful to me. I enjoy matches with such intensity,” the Italian veteran added.
Ranieri also pointed out that to succeed in the decisive part of the season, every Roma player must perform at their best, and that this effort should be appreciated:
“Right now, every match is like a final for us. We must give everything to achieve our goal — qualifying for the Champions League. Even small victories matter on this path. The win over Fiorentina is one of them. Our team once again showed its mental and physical readiness,” concluded Claudio Ranieri.
As of now, after 35 rounds of Serie A, Roma holds a strong position in the race for the top spots. Under Ranieri’s leadership, the team will next face tough opponents like Atalanta, Milan, and Torino. Winning those games will be equally vital for the Wolves. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
