“Neftchi” missed the victory: Levchenko named the team’s main problem

After the “Surkhon” – “Neftchi” (0:0) match of the 12th round of the Super League, the coach of the Fergana team, Vitaliy Levchenko, gave his assessment of his team’s play at the press conference.

— In such games, in order to win, first of all, you need to score goals. In the first half, we created two clear chances. If we had used those chances, the result would have been completely different. I have no complaints about the boys' efforts, everyone worked hard. But in football, desire alone is not enough, skill is also needed. The score on the board says it all, — said the coach.

Fans’ objections and the choice of attack line

During the press conference, Levchenko was also asked about the discontent expressed by fans after the match:

— Honestly, I didn’t witness the situation myself. But we will definitely look into it. If the fans had any objections, we will communicate with them. The team took to the field for victory, but didn’t score — it’s understandable for the fans to be upset.

Marushich or Tabatadze? Who was more effective in attack?

— Why do you not consider Marushich a full striker? He also played as a central forward. Of course, Tabatadze, coming on at the end of the game, may have looked better due to his physical advantage. The defenders were already tired after two halves. But the fact is, none of our forwards managed to score. That’s the main problem.

Why did Begamov leave?

— The issue of Shahboz Begamov is a decision of the management. I can’t say anything about this, — said the coach briefly.

Although the Fergana team started the season well, failures have increased in recent rounds. According to the coach, the team is acting well, but there is not enough skill and potential for results. In the next rounds, this situation must change, otherwise “Neftchi” may fall behind in the fight for the top positions.
