Manchester City’s experienced midfielder Bernardo Silva has answered the question fans have been waiting for — he will continue to play for the club next season. The Portuguese footballer made this clear in an interview with sports journalist Ben Jacobs.
"I will definitely stay at City next season. Just like before, there were several options this time too, but I made my choice. Manchester City is a club that has become my second home," Silva said.
Bernardo Silva has been playing for City since 2017 and has become one of the club’s key figures during this period. This season, he played in 49 official matches, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists. His work ethic and intelligent approach to the game play an important role in Guardiola’s tactics.
After the season ended, it was reported that some Saudi Arabian clubs had made attractive financial offers to Bernardo. In particular, it was noted that he was offered a huge monthly salary. However, Silva preferred to stay in a professional environment and play at the highest football level.
His current contract with Manchester City runs until the summer of 2026. So, if nothing changes, Bernardo may stay with the club for at least another two seasons.
Bernardo Silva’s decision to stay is good news not only for Guardiola and the team but also for the entire fan base. He is not only a technically gifted player, but also brings experience and leadership to the squad. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
