Yamal inherits Messi’s legendary number

Winger Lamin Yamal has changed his squad number, Euro-football.ru reported.

As expected, the talented player will now wear the number 10 shirt for Barcelona. The announcement was made during the ceremony to extend his contract with the club.

Yamal previously wore the number 19 jersey. The No. 10 shirt has a legendary legacy at Barcelona, having been worn by stars like Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, and Rivaldo.

Before Yamal, Ansu Fati wore the number, but he recently transferred to Monaco. Lamin Yamal just turned 18 last weekend.

He has already played 106 matches for Barcelona’s first team, scoring 25 goals and providing 34 assists. Yamal is considered a core player for the team, with high hopes placed on his shoulders.

His change of number marks the beginning of a new era at the club.
