Experts found refereeing error in Spartak match

The Expert-Referee Commission of the Russian Football Union, at the request of Spartak, reviewed two cases in the match between Spartak and Baltika. This was reported by one.uz.
These cases were related to the dismissal of Anton Zabolotny and Markinios from the field. In the first case, the Expert-Referee Commission found the decision of referee Sergei Karasev after the intervention of the VAR system to be correct.
The commission found that Anton Zabolotny seriously violated the rules of football. The referees unanimously noted that the Spartak striker, without reaching for the ball, threatened the safety of the opponent's player with his open sneakers.
In the second case, the commission unanimously found that Sergei Karasev's second yellow card to Markinios was incorrect. The commission found that the Baltika player was offside before the violation occurred.
Therefore, the development of the attack was not prevented. As a result, the mistake of the assistant referee led to the main referee making an incorrect decision.
VAR, according to its protocol, could not intervene in this situation. It should be recalled that Spartak lost to Baltika 0:3 in this match.
