According to “Barcelona” forward Robert Lewandowski, Madrid’s “Real” should not try to find a player like the “blaugrana” midfielder Lamine Yamal. He emphasized that searching for a similar alternative increases excessive pressure inside the club, and the most correct thing is to move consistently forward in your own direction. He touched on this in an interview given to ESPN.
“Of course, they (“Real”) want to find a talented player like Lamine Yamal, but by doing so they are putting themselves under pressure. In my opinion, this is impossible. It’s better for them to go in their own direction,” — said the experienced forward. According to him, demands from fans to “find our own Yamal” will naturally be heard, however such a talent is not born in every city and every year.
“This happens once every ten years. It resembles the example of Messi and Ronaldo — you cannot find someone like them because they are unique,” — Lewandowski added. In his words, instead of excessive comparisons toward the young midfielder who has become a player of an unrepeatable level, clubs should refine their own style.
In the past season, Lamine Yamal took the field in 55 matches across all competitions, scored 18 goals and delivered 25 assists. The 18-year-old footballer has also been included in the list of contenders for the “Ballon d’Or–2025” award. These figures show that on the wing his speed, maturity in decision-making, and mutual harmony with teammates are clearly being displayed.
