After the 20th round Super League match between “Bukhara” and “Kokand-1912”, the acting head coach of the hosts, Viktor Karpenko, took part in the press conference. In his speech, he especially emphasized the performance of the players and supported them for giving everything for the victory.
Karpenko first of all expressed gratitude to the team: “Big thanks to the guys. Today they completely dedicated themselves to the game, their desire and aspiration for victory were very high. After the match with ‘Bunyodkor’ we returned to Bukhara, then had to come to Karshi. In two days it was impossible to fully prepare the team, the main goal was to recover the players. Therefore, it was their shown character today that brought us the victory. This result became a worthy gift for all Bukhara fans and the club’s management. The team is moving in the right direction, there is still a long way ahead. There are players of good level in the squad, and if they are trusted, the results will definitely come.”
The coach also spoke about the game itself. According to him, in the first half “Bukhara” took the initiative and created several dangerous chances. In the second half, due to fatigue, they had to defend more, but despite that, they scored a goal and preserved the win: “We endured and finally took three points.”
The issue of refereeing was also raised at the press conference. Karpenko said: “I have no serious complaints about the referees. Just sometimes there were whistles for minor fouls, even where it was not necessary. But overall, I evaluate the referees’ work positively. During the game we gave in to emotions, but in general the referees worked fairly. I think the opponents can confirm this too, as the match was equal.”
The experienced coach also commented on the introduction of Jurabekov: “Shahboz is a universal player. He can mark the opponent in defense and at the same time show aggressiveness in attack. Today he was more active in attack than in defense. We wanted to score the second goal, but even one goal was enough for the victory. His appearance added strength to the team.”
The coach was also asked who contributed more to the victory — Hayrullaev or Amonov. Karpenko responded by prioritizing team spirit: “I would not single out anyone. Because the whole team ensured the victory. Today was Ravshan Hayrullaev’s birthday, and the guys dedicated the win to him. What matters is not the play of one person, but the joint effort of all players.”
