The date and location of the draw ceremony for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been set. According to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), the event will take place on December 5 of this year at the Kennedy Center in Washington. The traditional ceremony draws special attention as one of the most important stages in preparing for the tournament.
“It is an honor for us to hold the largest and most anticipated draw in World Cup history at the Kennedy Center, the cultural heart of the USA. This is an important stage of tournament preparation and one of the key events in the build-up to the biggest sporting event of 2026. We look forward to welcoming team delegations, our partners, media representatives, and, most importantly, fans from the 16 host cities to the U.S. capital,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. He emphasized that the draw results will clarify the calendar and logistics plans and set the balance and intrigue of the groups.
The 2026 World Cup will be held across the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Forty-eight national teams, including our national team, will take part.
Ahead of the draw ceremony, the host cities continue to test infrastructure, plan logistic flows, and update fan-safety protocols. It is expected that the official program for delegations, accreditation rules for the media, and the event script will be organized in a light and comfortable format.
As expected, the draw results will shape the first head-to-head fixtures, the geography of travel, and the strategic landscape of competition. At the same time, initial conclusions about squad depth, clashes of playing styles, and the degree of parity in the groups will also emerge right there.
