One of the leaders of the Iranian national team, Mehdi Taremi, will not be able to play in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025. The reason is that the striker has gone to Greece and joined the signing process with Olympiacos.
It's worth noting that earlier it was announced that another key Iranian forward, Alireza Hosseinzoda, would be unable to contribute to the team due to an injury. This is a huge loss for the national team coaches.
Last season, Taremi played for prestigious Italian club Inter Milan. He made 26 appearances, scoring once and providing two assists.
Officials believe the player's move to Olympiacos could open a new chapter in his European career. However, the biggest question for now is how the Iranian national team could perform in the CAFA tournament without him.
