As you know, the World Boxing Championship for adults is being held for the first time in Liverpool, England, under the initiative of World Boxing. Within the framework of this prestigious competition, another piece of good news came from our compatriot.
Our boxer Khumorabonu Mamajonova, who entered the ring in the -57 kg weight category, faced Boyana Goykovich from Montenegro. From the very first rounds of the fight, Mamajonova took the lead. In the first round, he knocked down his opponent and took control of the fight script.
As a result of the displayed will and accurate shots, the judges unanimously awarded the victory in Mamajonova's favor. Thus, our compatriot secured a spot in the next stage with a significant advantage.
It should be noted that another representative of Uzbekistan, Aziza Zakirova, is expected to enter the ring as part of the championship. Her next opponent will be the Hungarian athlete Regina Lakos.
