Villarreal representatives assessed the La Liga management's decision as insufficiently well-planned and misorganized. The club also stated that the official statement was disrespectful when the players were announced during their Champions League match against Manchester City.
Villarreal is expected to make an official statement on Wednesday regarding the cancellation of the match scheduled to take place in the US. Barcelona had previously officially commented on the cancellation of the match.
