Uzbek athletes continue to successfully participate in the III Youth Asian Games, which are taking place in the capital of Bahrain, Manama. Another compatriot, talented weightlifter Hayotbek Ermatov, took a place among the prize-winners.
Competing in the men's -71 kg weight category, Ermatov showed a result of 131 kg in the snatch and won a bronze medal. This result was not only an individual achievement, but also strengthened the position of our national team in the overall standings.
According to the organizers of the competition, the level of competition in the -71 kg weight category was very high. Athletes from various Asian countries competed fiercely for each kilogram. However, Ermatov gained the upper hand with his consistent movements and psychological preparedness.
According to the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan (NOC), this medal is the next achievement of our country's sports delegation in the current competition. Thus, the Uzbekistan youth national team increased the number of medals in weightlifting.
As a reminder, the Uzbekistan delegation currently ranks among the top three teams in Asia. Our young athletes also actively participate in swimming, boxing, taekwondo, track and field, and other disciplines.
Hayotbek Ermatov's bronze medal is not only the result of his personal work, but also a great source of inspiration for the younger generation of athletes. His coaches also emphasized his student's potential for sustained growth, saying that this was just the beginning.
The tournament in Bahrain will last until October 30. In the coming days, athletes from the Uzbekistan national team will compete in several more disciplines to raise the flag of our country high.
Hayotbek Ermatov's success once again demonstrated the stable development of the Uzbek weightlifting school in recent years.
