FIFA confirmed the disqualification of Malaysian footballers

In September, we reported on a scandal involving document forgery in the Malaysian national team. This situation led to serious sanctions from FIFA.

The Malaysian Football Federation requested a review of the decision through the appeals court. However, the court announced its final decision a few weeks later: the guilty parties were deemed deserving of punishment.

According to this decision, seven players from the Malaysian national team accused of fraud were disqualified from football for one year. Additionally, each player must pay a fine of two thousand Swiss francs.

The Malaysian Football Federation, meanwhile, was fined a much larger amount — 350 thousand Swiss francs. Furthermore, the federation is required to develop and submit a special plan to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.
