Wolfsburg, playing in the German Bundesliga, has terminated its partnership with head coach Paul Simonis, according to the team's press service.
According to reports, the Wolves have lost their last three matches, including the German Cup. These results have brought the team closer to a dangerous zone in the tournament table - Wolfsburg currently sits in 14th place after 10 rounds.
Paul Simonis took over the team last summer. Prior to that, he managed Dutch club Gou Exed Igls and was known as a skilled coach in working with youth. However, his first season in Germany began unsuccessfully - the team not only lost points, but also failed to demonstrate the expected level of discipline in playing style.
The club's management believes that changes in management are necessary to improve results and team morale. Therefore, the head coach position was temporarily transferred to Wolfsburg youth team coach Daniel Bauer. His main task is to restore the team's morale and prepare the team for the next match against Bayer Leverkusen.
Wolfsburg's new management emphasizes that the club's most important task is to maintain stable results until the end of the season and return to top positions. At the same time, the team's fans expect the management to announce the permanent head coach's name as soon as possible.
The next match will take place on Saturday, November 22nd. The opponent is Bayer Leverkusen, battling for the championship, and this very match could be a new chapter for Wolfsburg.
