Our juniors are once again on the verge of writing history at the World Cup

The climate is hot, intense matches are taking place on the pitches, and the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar is intensifying. Of the 48 national teams that came with great hopes, only 16 countries now have the opportunity to reach the top eight. Among these strong teams is, of course, the Uzbekistan youth national team - our representatives have already reached the 1/8 finals of the World Cup three times and played in the quarter-finals.

A brilliant victory in Mexico in 2011

Our juniors first reached the 1/8 finals of the 2011 World Cup in Mexico, demonstrating true skill in the match against Australia. A convincing 4-0 victory once again proved the strength of that generation. Abbosbek Makhstaliyev, Temur Khakimov, and Davlatbek Yorbekov were brilliant on the pitch, and the Australians scored another goal. However, in the next round, we couldn't withstand the pressure from the Uruguayans and lost 0:2.

2013 UAE: fierce struggle, missing one goal

Two years later, at the World Cup in the UAE, our juniors were close to the semi-finals, but lost to their Honduran peers by a minimal margin.

2023 Indonesia: victory over England, painful defeat against France

One of the best memories in our recent history is the 2023 World Cup in Indonesia. We started the match against the favorite, England, with Amirbek Saidov's goal in the 4th minute. In the middle of the first half, the English equalized the score, and in the second half, our captain Lazizbek Mirzayev took the team to the quarter-finals with a legendary ball from a free kick. Unfortunately, in the match against France, only one goal decided the fate, and our juniors lost 0:1.

2025 Qatar: A decisive challenge against Italy

Now it's another big test - the quarter-finals of this World Cup in Qatar. The Uzbekistan national team has the opportunity to write a new page in its history in the match against Italy. The match kicks off on November 18th at 5:30 PM. A lot is expected from the guys who will take the field this time - the team's character, courage, and willpower will be tested once again.

At such times, all fans feel one thing well: our teenagers are the pride of today's generation, they are stepping into a new history that will unfold at every step.
