Monaco head coach Sebastien Pokonyoli shared his thoughts ahead of the Champions League group stage fifth-round match against Cyprus' "Pafos" team. After four rounds, the teams are placed side by side in the tournament standings, occupying 24th and 25th positions respectively.
Speaking to UEFA's press service, Pokonyoli stated: "After a challenging start, we have had the opportunity to embark on a series of good results in the Champions League, though this success has eluded us so far in Ligue 1. This match could be an important step for us: successfully concluding the overall stage and advancing to the playoffs." The match will take place on the home ground of the Cypriot team and is scheduled to begin at 8:45 PM Moscow time.
Both teams have secured only one victory in the tournament so far: "Pafos" defeated Spain's "Villarreal" with a score of 1-0, while "Monaco" overcame Norway's "Bodø/Glimt" with the same result.
