The head coach of Portugal’s "Sporting" team, Rui Borges, highly praised his team’s performance in the match against "Club Brugge." In the fifth round of the Champions League group stage, the Portuguese team defeated their Belgian opponents with a scoreline of 3-0.
"We managed to secure the result in a game against a challenging opponent. They caused problems for us from the very first minute through their pressing.
We were aware of their capabilities, but we became a very mature team, which was a crucial factor. The team played calmly and with confidence," Borges said in an interview with the publication Sapo.
The coach also expressed his confidence that his team would remain competitive in the match against "Athletic Bilbao" and the remaining three games. Following this victory, "Sporting" is in 8th place in the tournament standings with 10 points, while "Club Brugge" remains in 26th place with 4 points.
