
The head coach of the Brazil national football team, Carlo Ancelotti, selected three unique candidates for FIFA's "Best Coach of the Year" nomination. Ancelotti ranked Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Luis Enrique first, followed by Barcelona's Hans-Dieter Flick in second place, and Javier Aguirre, the head coach of the Mexico national team, in third.
Ultimately, the winner of the nomination was Luis Enrique. His candidacy was also supported by Valery Karpin, the head coach of the Russian national team.
Following his departure from Real Madrid, Ancelotti took charge of the Brazil national team and successfully led them to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The award ceremony took place in Qatar.
