Shomurodov’s Rival Considers Serie A Return Amid AC Milan Talks

Shomurodov's rival wants to return to Serie A: ‘Milan’ option under discussion

Mauro Icardi, a renowned striker who is currently competing closely with Eldor Shomurodov in the Turkish Super Lig’s top scorer race, may experience a new turning point in his career. The Argentine footballer now has the chance to return to Italy's Serie A.

Icardi, who has been playing for Galatasaray for several seasons, is being heavily linked with a summer transfer to AC Milan. This was announced by reliable insider Matteo Moretto on social media.

According to reports, the 32-year-old striker has been offered by AC Milan’s management as part of their efforts to strengthen their attacking lineup. Specifically, Icardi is considered a suitable replacement for Santiago Giménez, who is expected to leave the team. It is noted that the Rossoneri are in need of an experienced player capable of making a decisive impact during critical moments.

Mauro Icardi himself has not ruled out the option of leaving the Istanbul club. In recent months, he has faced difficulties in securing a spot in the starting lineup, and competition within the team is intensifying. These factors have prompted the striker to seriously contemplate his future.

For reference, Icardi transferred from PSG to Galatasaray in July 2023 for €10 million. In the current season, he has participated in 21 matches for the club and managed to score 8 goals.

If this transfer materializes, it would mark another return to Serie A for Icardi. AC Milan plans to utilize his experience and goal-scoring abilities to further solidify their position in the race for the championship.
