Xabi Alonso Apologizes to Real Defender Valdepenyas

The head coach of Madrid's "Real" team, Xabi Alonso, has apologized to defender Victor Valdepenas. The 19-year-old footballer made his debut in the La Liga match against "Alaves" (2-1).

After the match, Alonso praised the young player's performance in his debut game but also mentioned that the blame for the only goal conceded by the team was associated with Valdepenas. According to Marca, the coach later apologized to the player for these remarks.

It was reported that Alonso personally met with Valdepenas to explain why he mentioned his mistake in public. Valdepenas started in the main lineup during the match against "Alaves" and was substituted in the 76th minute.
